The North Glasgow Volunteering Taster Programme is in it's second year providing an exciting opportunity for your organisation’s clients to get involved in building their capacity and moving them closer to volunteering, training, education or employment. The Volunteering Activity Group*, led by North Glasgow Healthy Living Community (NGHLC) is offering North Glasgow residents aged 16 and over the opportunity to learn more about volunteering and participate in a variety of volunteering experiences. Clients will be given the chance to visit a variety of local organisations and see how they involve volunteers. They will gain a greater understanding of how they can contribute to local charities, voluntary organisations and projects.
Programme Outline:
Session 1: Introduction to Volunteering - icebreaker and capacity building activity exploring what participants will get out of the experience
Sessions: 2 – 6: Participants complete five unique volunteering 'Taster' experiences
Session 7: Exit - A 1:2:1 session exploring next steps including brokering / or arranging an appointment to meet with a Volunteer Centre staff member. Participants also receive a certificate after completion.
The full programme will last no longer than 3 weeks.
